Community Members to Rally and Speak at Brevard County Board Meeting Over Concerns with Sheriff’s Leadership
Viera, FL — Concerned residents of Brevard County will gather on Tuesday, July 8 for a peaceful rally and public comment action ahead of the monthly meeting of the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners. The rally will begin at 3:45 PM at the Brevard County Government Center (Building C) in Viera, followed by organized public comments during the 5:00 PM board meeting.
The demonstration is being organized in response to growing concern over recent public comments made by Sheriff Wayne Ivey, as well as broader questions about accountability, public safety, and the role of elected officials in overseeing law enforcement.
After the Rally, participants will attend the board meeting to speak during public comment, where each speaker will have 2–3 minutes to address the commission directly.
Organizers emphasize that the event will be peaceful and all community members are encouraged to attend and speak out. Speaking is not required; attendees are welcome to attend meeting and support those speaking. Participants are asked to arrive early, bring signs if they wish, and dress appropriately for the public forum.
